These choices affect not only 2026 but entire generations. They will determine the world in which children grow – whether it is livable or insecure, just or indifferent. They are all consequences of the same neglect of responsibility, threatening the habitability of our planet and flagrantly violating the fundamental rights of children. This address is the voice of the children of Planet Earth. The World Children & Youth Physical Education Academy – C.Y.P.E.-Academy – brings this message before the highest decision -making bodies of the United Nations because the rights of children and their home, Planet Earth, are being systematically violated. The year 2026 begins in a world that is not at peace. It begins in a world where children pay the price for the decisions of adults. The year 2025 revealed a truth that can no longer be ignored: violence continues, the climate is deteriorating, and Planet Earth is suffering – and children are always the first to suffer. Children did not choose wars. Children did not choose the climate crisis. Children did not choose terrorism, hatred, or destruction. Christmas Greeting to the Children of the World – A Call for Christmas Peace and Children’s Rights Dear world leaders, Dear Holy Father, Pope, and all those who have the power to influence the lives of children, Christmas is a celebration of children. It is a celebration of hope, safety, love, and the belief that tomorrow can be better than yesterday. The message of Christmas is simple, yet demanding: every child has the right to life, peace, and human dignity. Yet even this Christmas, millions of children wake up without safety. Without a home. Without parents. Without school. Without peace. They live surrounded by war, violence, poverty, exploitation, and fear. They do not need beautiful speeches. They need action. Christmas peace must not be only a tradition, a declaration, or a symbolic phrase. Christmas peace is an obligation. It is a moral responsibility that rests above all on you – the political and spiritual leaders of the world. On you, who have the power to stop weapons, open borders for humanitarian aid, protect children, and defend their human rights. Holy Father, you often speak on behalf of the weakest. In these times, the world needs from you courageous and clear leadership for children. Not only prayers, but also demands. Demands for peace, justice, and accountability. Children’s dignity is not negotiable. World leaders, your decisions determine whether a child lives or dies, learns or is silenced, plays or lives in fear. Every day without peace is a crime against childhood. Every delay sends a message that children’s suffering can wait. It cannot. This Christmas, we demand more than words. We demand action. We demand that children’s human rights be placed at the highest priority – not tomorrow, not at the next meeting, but now. We demand that children be protected in wars. That abducted children be returned to their homes. That every child has the right to grow up without fear. Christmas reminds us that even the smallest child can change the world. But the responsibility for changing the world does not belong to children. It belongs to adults. It belongs to you. This Christmas, give children the most valuable gift of all: peace. Safety. December 15, 2025 Dear friends, beloved family members, partners, and companions on my life’s journey, today, on December 15, 2025, I stand here filled with gratitude. 60 years… My journey began on December 15, 1965, in a snowy winter, and my very first journey home took me on December 24, 1965, to Myllypuro, Helsinki. The roots of my life are deeply embedded in nature. Nature has given me peace, strength, and direction when words were not enough. Friends — those who stayed, and those who came and went. And above all, football. My career as a football goalkeeper taught me responsibility, courage, and what it means to stand alone — for the sake of the team. There was also darkness along the way. I was bullied at school. I faced social exclusion. But in upper secondary school, I began to find friends again -- and once more, through football. Moving in nature gave me strength when the world felt too heavy to carry alone. Then came the day that changed everything: August 21, 1995 – the launch of the EVERYBODY IS IMPORTANT project. From that day on, I have been able to walk the path as an advocate for marginalized children and youth through physical education. At first, children and young people with special needs. From 1998 onward, children and youth in crisis areas. Children and young people who had been told — or made to feel -- that they did not matter. Our answer was clear: EVERYBODY IS IMPORTANT. From my heart, I want to say: thank you to the friends who believed in this project and worked together with us. Without you, this would not have been possible. The office established in Leshnikovo village, Bulgaria, has been more than a place -- it has been hope. In Leshnikovo village, I want to express my heartfelt thanks to Dechko, Henry, and Niina. Your work, your hearts, and your commitment to Leshnikovo are a living example of genuine care - care for the villagers, the nature of Leshnikovo, and the animals. In each of you beats a great heart, a caregiver’s heart that sees, listens, and carries responsibility even when it requires strength and courage. I am deeply grateful and truly happy to have shared moments with you, to have walked alongside you, and to have learned from you what true humanity and compassion mean. Thank you for being who you are -- and for making Leshnikovo a home where the heart can remain open. The Ukraine project, launched on April 18, 2025, is a reminder that even in the midst of war and crisis, a child has the right to move, to play, and to be seen. I want to pause at the most painful reality of all: children and youth in war zones. Children whose daily lives are now filled with fear, young people whose dreams have been buried under bombings, shrapnel, and uncertainty. Schools, whose mission is to protect and educate, have been damaged or closed. Sports clubs, which once provided joy, rhythm, and safety, are left without fields, equipment, or opportunities. In these conditions, physical activity, community, and human connection are not hobbies -- they are essential tools for survival. The EVERYBODY IS IMPORTANT project has been, for these children and young people, a spark of hope, a moment when they were seen, a moment when they were allowed to be children and youth again — without fear. I wish to express my deepest and most humble gratitude to all of you who have worked with us in crisis areas. To those who opened doors in schools, stood beside us in sports clubs, and shared the responsibility, the risks, and the hardships. Without your courage, trust, and cooperation, this work would not be possible. You have shown that compassion knows no borders, and that cooperation can endure even in the midst of war. Thank you for helping to give children and young people hope, safety, and faith in tomorrow. With you, this work has found its true meaning. This year, the project celebrates 30 years. 30 years of work, faith, stumbling and rising — and above all, people. I want to thank everyone who has been part of this journey: instructors, volunteers, partners, friends -- and the children and young people who have taught me more than any book ever could. And finally — thank you all for the birthday congratulations. They mean more to me than I can put into words. If these 60 years have taught me anything, it is this: one single person can be the whole world to another. Thank you for being part of my world. Скъпи приятели, обичани членове на семейството, партньори и спътници по пътя на моя живот, днес, на 15 декември 2025 г., стоя тук изпълнен с благодарност. 60 години… Моето пътуване започна на 15 декември 1965 г., в снежна зима, а първото ми пътуване към дома беше на 24 декември 1965 г. – към Мюлюпуро, Хелзинки. Корените на моя живот са дълбоко свързани с природата. Природата ми даде спокойствие, сила и посока, когато думите не бяха достатъчни. Приятелите — тези, които останаха, и тези, които дойдоха и си тръгнаха. И преди всичко — футболът. Моята кариера като футболен вратар ме научи на отговорност, смелост и какво означава да стоиш сам — в името на отбора. По пътя имаше и тъмни моменти. Бях тормозен в училище. Срещнах се със социално изключване. Но в горните класове отново започнах да намирам приятели -- и още веднъж, чрез футбола. Движението сред природата ми даде сила, когато светът изглеждаше твърде тежък, за да го нося сам. Тогава дойде денят, който промени всичко: 21 август 1995 г. – стартирането на проекта EVERYBODY IS IMPORTANT. От този ден нататък имам честта да вървя по пътя като защитник на маргинализираните деца и младежи чрез физическо възпитание. В началото — деца и младежи със специални потребности. От 1998 г. нататък — деца и младежи от кризисни райони. Деца и млади хора, на които някой е казал -- или ги е накарал да почувстват -- че нямат значение. Нашият отговор беше ясен: EVERYBODY IS IMPORTANT – ВСЕКИ Е ВАЖЕН. От сърце искам да кажа: благодаря на приятелите, които повярваха в този проект и работиха заедно с нас. Без вас това нямаше да бъде възможно. Офисът, създаден в село Лешниково, България, е бил повече от място -- той беше надежда. В село Лешниково искам да изкажа най-сърдечната си благодарност на Дечко, Хенри и Ниина. Вашата работа, вашите сърца и вашата отдаденост на Лешниково са жив пример за истинска грижа -- грижа за хората от селото, за природата на Лешниково и за животните. Училищата, чиято мисия е да защитават и образоват, са повредени или затворени. Спортните клубове, които носеха радост, ритъм и сигурност, са останали без игрища, екипировка и възможности. При тези условия физическата активност, общността и човешката връзка не са хоби -- те са жизненоважни средства за оцеляване. Проектът EVERYBODY IS IMPORTANT се превърна за тези деца и младежи в искра на надежда, в момент, в който бяха видени, в момент, в който отново можеха да бъдат деца и млади хора — без страх. Искам да изразя най-дълбоката си и искрена благодарност към всички вас, които работихте с нас в кризисни райони. Към тези, които отвориха врати в училищата, застанаха до нас в спортните клубове, и споделиха отговорността, рисковете и трудностите. Academy) His Excellency António Guterres Secretary-General United Nations Subject: A Plea for the Protection of Children and the Restoration of Humanity’s Moral Duty Your Excellency, I write to you not only with concern, but with a profound sense of heartbreak. Children—innocent, defenseless children—are dying in conflicts carried out by Member States of this very Organization that was created to protect them. The world watches as schools are shattered, hospitals burn, and the small bodies of children become casualties of weapons they never chose, understood, or deserved. What can we say of humanity if even the youngest among us are denied the most basic of all rights—the right to life? The United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child affirms this right without hesitation:
The Sun and the Child: A Sacred, Universal Bond Across the world, the sun rises without fail. It warms every child equally—regardless of nationality, ethnicity, religion, or circumstance. The sun offers life freely, giving energy, growth, and hope. How devastating that some human beings—some governments—choose to take away what the sun grants so generously. No missile should darken a child’s sunlight. No bomb should silence a child’s laughter. No political ambition should outweigh the sacred value of a child’s life. Your Excellency, this must not continue. The United Nations cannot stand for peace while allowing its Member States to wage war against childhood itself. The UN cannot speak of human rights while children’s rights are buried beneath rubble. The UN cannot advocate for hope while children lose the sun that belongs to them by nature. I implore you, with every moral force available to me:

EVERYBODY IS IMPORTANT Public Letter to the President of the United States, Donald Trump, and His Advisers Dear President Donald Trump, Dear Advisors, I am writing to you today on behalf of the children of our planet — all those who live under the same Sun, regardless of the country they were born in or the circumstances in which they grow up. The Sun has given its light to this world long before nations, borders, political systems, or economic agreements existed. Its life-giving and philosophical power is one of the clearest reminders that every human being is important — not only those who carry influence, position, or authority, but also those who are the most vulnerable: the children. The Sun does not discriminate. It does not choose which children it loves more or less. It does not look at race, religion, nationality, wealth, disability, or family background. It gives life-sustaining energy to every child on Earth — quietly, consistently, equally. For this reason, I ask you, Mr. President, and your advisers: Do you know why the Sun gives its life energy to all the children of the world? Because life itself belongs to everyone. Because no single individual, no government, no corporation, and no political system can own the Sun or its gift. The Sun is not a business. The Sun is not a weapon. The Sun is not a bargaining tool. And it cannot become the judge that decides which children deserve to live and which do not. Therefore, I respectfully ask a serious and essential question: Does any human being have the right to decide which children are allowed to live on our planet if the Sun — the very source of life — gives them that right without hesitation? Can any person or government say: “These children belong under the Sun, but these do not”? I believe the answer is clear: No. Not now. Not ever. The children of the world need peace. They need the chance to grow, to attend school, to learn, to build their future, to draw their first drawings, to sing, to dance, to play music, to practice sports — to live a full childhood without the shadow of fear. They need a planet that is livable, safe, and peaceful. Earth is their only home — just as it is ours. Mr. President, For many decades, the United States has been one of the world’s most influential defenders of peace, security, and children’s rights. I hope that you and your administration will have the wisdom, courage, and compassion to recognize what the Sun has always known: No child is more valuable than another. Every child is worthy of life. Under the Sun, EVERYBODY IS IMPORTANT. I ask you, your advisers, and leaders across the world to remember that the future of our planet depends on how we treat the most vulnerable among us. Children cannot wait. They need light now — from the sky above and from us adults. Let me end with this, clearly and without wavering: Under the Sun, every child has the right to live. It is a right that must never be taken away. It is a right that must be defended. It is a right that belongs to all — forever. And finally, Mr. President, I ask you to reflect on this not only as a leader, but as a father and a grandfather: Are your own children and grandchildren more deserving of the Sun’s light than any other child on Earth -- or does the Sun illuminate them with the same equal, unconditional value that it gives to every child of humanity?
